Laura Burd and Christy Fratta have been best friends since 1974 and both began their careers at PaineWebber Mortgage Finance in 1992. Joining forces to combine Laura’s title knowledge and Christy’s mortgage, especially settlement, expertise in 1997, Maryland Title Works Unlimited was born. We are wholly women owned and proud of it! Although we could have expanded into several offices over the years, we prefer to remain small to be hands-on with every buyer, seller, realtor and loan officer. Christy has been working in the mortgage and title industry since 1992. She earned her B.S. from Towson State University and her MBA from Johns Hopkins University. Christy began her career at Paine Webber Mortgage Finance/Columbia National as the Settlement Supervisor. Laura and Christy have been lifelong friends and have loved running Maryland Title Works Unlimited together since establishing the company in 1997. She especially loves working with first-time homebuyers and helping them navigate through this sometimes overwhelming process. Christy grew up in Bowie but now lives in Ellicott City with her husband and has three beautiful adult kids. She loves animals, playing pickleball, reading, sporting events and spending time with family and friends.

Laura received her B.A. from Auburn University in 1991. She has 30 years of experience in the title and mortgage industry. Helping new and existing homeowners experience a smooth, hassle free, pleasant buying/selling experience is something she truly enjoys. When she is not working you can find her hiking, volunteering, walking her two Labrador Retrievers, cheering on her Auburn Tigers or spending time with her family and friends. Heather has more than 22 years of experience in the real estate settlement process from start to finish. Heather lives in Annapolis with her husband and their youngest daughter, their 2 gentle giant dogs and very verbal cat!
